To form a cricket team.
Never to win at all costs,
Simply to play the game,
And that by their example,
All men would do the same.
Through many a cricket season
Those founder members played,
And from this great tradition
They never would be swayed.
And when the game was over
They'd share a point of view,
With each of their opponents
Over a drink or two.
To those who follow after
Remember this with pride,
Our cricket team was founded
